Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Hexbon ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Description of Service

Hexbon provides client-side encrypted data storage services through a web-based dashboard. Users can securely store passwords, notes, addresses, and other personal information in structured cards and records. Key features include:

• Client-side AES-256 encryption with dual-layer security (client + server storage encryption)
• Zero-knowledge architecture - we cannot access or decrypt your stored data
• Password-free sign-in: a one-time email code, or OAuth via Google, Microsoft, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Discord, and Yahoo
• Structured data organization using cards and records with custom sections
• Utility tools including password generators, UUID generators, and TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) code generation
• Data export capabilities for portability and backup
• Secure data sharing with expiring links and password protection
• Chrome browser extension for quick access to your encrypted data
• REST API access for programmatic data management

We are committed to protecting your privacy and implementing strong data protection measures:

• Encryption: All data is encrypted using industry-standard encryption algorithms
• Zero-Knowledge: We cannot decrypt or access your stored data
• Data Portability: You can export your data at any time
• Right to Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and data

5. Service Availability

While we strive to maintain high availability, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control.

API Access

Hexbon provides a REST API for programmatic access to your encrypted data. By using the API, you agree to the following terms:

• API access is rate-limited to 10 requests per minute per user
• API keys must be kept confidential and not shared with third parties
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your API key
• API tokens are temporary and expire after 60 minutes
• Abuse of the API may result in rate limiting or account suspension

6. Limitation of Liability

Important: Hexbon is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use our service, including but not limited to data loss, security breaches, or service interruptions.

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination:

• Your access to the service will be immediately revoked
• Your encrypted data will be permanently and instantly deleted from our servers
• No data retention period - all information is removed immediately upon account deletion

Support and Communication

We provide customer support through our ticket system. When you submit a support ticket:

• Your ticket information will be stored to provide assistance
• Response times may vary based on ticket volume and complexity
• We reserve the right to close tickets that are inactive or resolved

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the service. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

9. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union (for users located in the EU/EEA) or the laws of the United States of America (for users located outside the EU/EEA), without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
